Throwback Thursday - Story Time

Happy Friday Eve!  I am feel pretty fantastic today because I am officially done with the 10 day cleanse and I made it out alive!!!  Time to celebrate!!!!
If you don't laugh at this picture you have no soul.
Just kidding, but for real, LOOK at that dog's face...and then his eyes...
To be honest, I don't really know what to do with myself today.  I mean, I feel great, I am down 7 pounds (halle-FREAKIN-lujah), and I conquered the cleanse with only cheating 1 time (see the post "I Want A Cheeseburger").  As you may have read in my post yesterday (and if you returned today to read another post it's a Christmas miracle!!), Bud and I have been dreaming about what we want to eat for dinner tonight.  It will probably be pizza, and a few cocktails because it's a celebration b*tches!!!
Other than dinner tonight, I really have no urge to eat anything unhealthy.  Who am I??? Like I have said before, I don't want to undo everything I have accomplished so my plan is to just keep trucking along, making healthy choices, and working out.  It's something I can stick to without feeling like I want to poke my eyeballs out, and then possibly eat them because I am THAT hungry.  So there you have it.  I did take before and after pics of myself for myself only...those do not need to be cruising the internet streets...ever....

Now onto my Throwback Thursday story.  I like to reminisce about the past, and often do in my head, and then laugh to myself.  Sometimes this happens when I am around others, well mostly Bud, and he probably just brushes off my random laughter as another day in crazy town.  The other day on Instagram my friend from college at ASU posted a picture of Twista's Do or Die CD.  That CD was played quite a bit in our other friend's car as we would cruise around.  It was played in her car, in the dorms, etc.  I "liked" the picture on Instagram and it immediately brought up a story about my friend Jess and I when we did saki bombs for the first time.  So here is the story....

It was a clear black night, a clear white moon, Warren G was on the....just kidding.  It was a hot night because we were in Arizona and it's pretty much hot all the time.  My first week of school it was 120 degrees every day, no joke, and I think I went through about 3 outfits per day because I sweat so much.  Anyway, my friend Jess and I were hanging out with some guys from the swim team and decided it would be a great idea to go to this local Chinese restaurant for some saki bombs.  At the time I was 19 and could not legally drink.  We knew this restaurant was pretty lax about checking I.D.'s so it was our best option.  I did have a fake I.D. (sorry mom) even though the girl on the I.D. was 5'9, really long dark hair, and was from California.  Me, I am 5'7, I had blondish hair at the time, and I am from Minnesota.  But don't worry, I memorized that I.D. like the back of my hand.  I paid a pretty penny for that thing after all!  So anyway, we went to the restaurant, I handed my fake I.D. to the server like a champ, and on we went with our saki bombs.  I had never even heard of a saki bomb before this night but they were actually pretty good!  That was also when I had barely drank any sort of alcohol so anything I tried really wasn't that bad.  We did quite a few of those bombs and when we left, it was dark outside.  The night gets a little foggy after that, but Jess and I ended up going to one of the swim guy's houses for a party where we drank some more (smart) and the next thing I knew I was waking up the next morning, cuddling with Jess on the couch in their living room.  Awkward.  I remember waking up looking at her, looking at myself, and then sitting there for a few minutes before I realized we were cuddling, hahaha. I then realized I had to pee, REAL bad.  So I peeled myself off the couch, and stumbled my way to the bathroom.  It was about 7am and no one was awake yet, thank God.  I was still a little drunk woozy from the night before and when I bent down to sit on the toilet to pee I missed the toilet, fell into the shower, and pulled the shower curtain down with me.  I laid there, in my pee (there was no way that was staying in my body after my life flashed before my eyes), with the shower curtain draped over me.  I was a hot mess.  After I got myself together, and stopped laughing, I cleaned up, and went to get Jess.  We had to get out of that house before anyone woke up and realized I ripped their shower curtain off the rod.  I may or may not have had pee all over my pants.  Luckily those days were hot so I could have passed it off as sweat.  Or as I like to call it, swass.  Anyway, we got ourselves together, walked outside, realized exactly where we were in relation to the dorms, and then realized that we had about 7 miles to walk.  We both looked at each other with one of those "whatareyagonnado" faces, and just started walking.  We looked a little something like this:
The heat was blistering, we were starting to come down from the night before aka hung over, we were in flip-flops, and our legs just could not move.  I think it took us like 2 hours to get back to the dorms that morning.  It. Was. Rough.  I immediately hopped up to my bed (top bunk, holla!!) and went to sleep.  I think I woke up around dinner time that night.  Ahh, the days of getting to sleep as much as you want....

Now that I embarrassed myself today, I best get back work.

See ya later suckas!

Wednesday Whys?????

Happy Hump Day!  Well, maybe not too happy if you are living in the Wisconsin area (or if you are my peeps in Minnesota) because you either A) woke up to MORE snow on the ground this morning....in the middle of April, or B) Woke up at 3:30am to your son crying and ice chunks hitting your bedroom window while your husband was having an allergy attack.  Good times.  Even the drive to work sucked because the roads were crap and the radio talkers said we are getting an additional 3 inches of snow today and possibly 6 more inches tomorrow.  FML.  Another reason why I don't listen to talk radio.  I like to jam out in the morning.  Anyway.  So this lead me to my post today...Wednesday Whys???  I often ask myself, "why?" on a daily basis.  Whether it's regarding my lack of memory, my clumsiness, or my constant annoyance of the weather - it happens often.  So here is a list of recent "whys" that have crossed my mind....

1) WHY....is it that I cannot find motivation at work lately?  It's like I play this little game with myself to see how long I can put something off before I have to race against the clock to get it done.  I am never late with anything at work and I do work great under pressure, but come on Devon!!!  Get it together!

2) WHY....did a guy walk past my cube at work sagging his dress pants the other day?  Dude.  Lil Wayne called and he wants his pants back.  Seriously, you are at work.  We don't need to see your boxers as you roam around cubeland.  Clearly the term "business casual" was taken to a whole new level on this one.  Stay classy guy, staaaaaay classy.
3) WHY....is that every time I turn on the radio either Nickelback or Train is on?  Both bands I cannot stand.  They make me cringe and need to stop.  GO AWAY ALREADY!  As Mike Ditka would say, "STOP IT!!"
4) WHY....is it that every time I talk about Kamden sleeping well he does a 180 and starts getting cray in his crib?  As of late he has been getting up around 11:30pm and again at 3:30am or 4am.  What's the deal?  Are you teething?  Do you have a stomach ache?  Do you miss your mama?  I am going to go with the latter to ease my sleep discomfort.

5) WHY....is it that every person on the face of the earth, aka my facebook page, gets to go on vacation to some place sunny and warm.  Not fair!  Dear Vacation Gods, TAKE ME WITH YOU!!  Sincerely, Cold in Wisconsin.
Okay, that's enough "whys" for now.  Today is my last day on the cleanse and if you couldn't tell I am getting a little feisty.  It's all good in the hood.  I will make it until tomorrow.  And tomorrow, I will prance out of bed feeling like I conquered the world!  Not really, but I will be really excited to re-introduce cheese into my life.

Welp, that's all I have for now.

See ya later suckas!

I Want A Cheeseburger

With one more day of the cleanse left after today, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel....and a cheeseburger....and a beer....and maybe a side of fries.  Just kidding.  But for real, my monthly visitor showed up on Monday (yeah buddy!) and the need for a cheeseburger set in.  No, I will not have one until after the cleanse but when I do, it may look a little something like this:
YouTube "David Hasselhoff eating a cheeseburger" and then leave a comment saying thank you. :)
Hurts so good!
I am not gonna lie, Bud and I have been thinking about exactly what we are going to eat for dinner on Thursday since Sunday.  We are definitely going for something delish and definitely not cleanse-friendly.  Now don't get all "way to undo that last 10 days" on me, because after that, I am back on the wagon (or is it off the wagon - I never get that saying right) of eating healthy.  I don't plan on eating 100% clean because that takes a lot of work and A LOT of planning, but I am really going to try and eat clean for most of my meals and make better choices with the other meals.  To me, that is doable.  And something I can stick to.

Throughout this cleanse I have learned that I really like having fruits and veggies as snacks.  AND, they actually fill me up!  Who knew!!??  Also, I have learned that there are so many healthier versions of the foods and recipes that I love, that are also REALLY good.  It just takes a little research.  For example, Saturday we went to my sister-in-law's house for the Final Four games.  We knew there was going to be a lot of food there and drinks, so we came prepared.  We made turkey sweet and sour meatballs and bruschetta.  Both recipes are cleanse-friendly and they were SOOOOOOOO good!  In fact, they were so good that people not on the cleanse were eating them too!  Here they are in case you want to try too:

Bruschetta

makes about 8-10 servings

Gently blend together in a medium mixing bowl:
6 good sized Roma tomatoes, diced
3/4 cup of sun dried tomatoes (packed in oil-preferably olive oil) finely chopped
2 T. extra virgin olive oil
4 t. minced garlic
1/2 cup of finely chopped fresh basil
2 T. balsamic vinegar
1/4 t. ground pepper
1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese (cheese is not allowed on the cleanse but we still added a little)

Preheat your oven to 400* and spread the mixture in an 8" x 8" baking dish and bake for about 10-15 minutes - once the edges are bubbling and it smells amazing.

We then bought some 100% whole wheat mini bread (that's the best way I can describe it), brushed a little olive oil on top, and then put them under the broiler to toast them up a bit.  I tried looking for a whole grain baguette to cut up but didn't have any luck.  This was so good - we will definitely be making it again.

Sweet and Sour Meatballs
  • 1 lb. lean ground turkey
  • 1 cup cooked brown rice
  • 1 8oz can crushed pineapple in juice, drained
  • 1/2 cup green onions
  • 1 tbsp. light soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. ginger
Sauce:
  • 3/4 cup reduced-sodium, low fat chicken broth
  • 1/3 cup chili sauce
  • 3 tbsp. rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Combine meatball ingredients in medium bowl and mix thoroughly.  Line a baking sheet with foil.  Place cooking racks in foil lined baking sheet.  Shape meatballs and place on the racks.  Bake for about 25 minutes or until thoroughly cooked.  Transfer the meatballs to a serving dish and cover to keep warm.

Combine the sauce ingredients in a small saucepan and stir until cornstarch is dissolved.  Place sauce over medium heat and stir intermittently until mixture comes to a boil.  Reduce heat to low, and stir for another minute or until mixture thickens slightly.  Pour sauce over meatballs, and gently toss to coat meatballs and serve warm with toothpicks.

Saturday night we did cheat a little on the cleanse. Since we have been basically 100% on this entire cleanse, we caved and had a couple vodka waters with lemons.  It was the healthiest cocktail we could come up with and it actually was pretty good!  I am going to start drinking them more often instead of mixing with diet soda or juice.  Basically you can hydrate while you dehydrate. :)

Also on Saturday, I got my 9 mile run in!  It was TOUGH!  I am usually good for about 6 miles, no problems, but after that 6 things can be hit or miss.  When I ran my 8 miles last week it didn't seem bad at all.  This week running 9 was definitely a lot harder.  With running, I have good and bad days.  Some days I feel like I could run right through a marathon of the RH of Where Ever, no big deal, but others I have to take breaks, walk, drink water, etc.  That was how my run on Saturday was.  I am not mad about it, because I still finished, but I was definitely worn out by the end.  Here is how I finished:

Yeah it's sideways - apparently my computer skills are not as good as I thought
Not the best time but I am not even mad about it.  9 miles is my longest run to date so I will take it!  Next up, 10 miles this Saturday.  I pray that the weather is nice enough for me to run outside so I don't have to spend another 90+ minutes on the deathmill.

Welp, that's all I have for now.  Here's to getting through another day (after today) of the cleanse and a cheeseburger waiting for me at the finish line. :)
Do yourself a favor and NEVER, ever, ever, EVER google image "best cheeseburger" when you are on a cleanse.
Mouth. Watering. Out. Of. Control. Someone. Get. Me. A. Bucket.
Enjoying the sunshine on Sunday

Little Moments & Cleanse: Day 4

Happy Friday! I am so very happy the weekend is upon us and that we can hopefully relax a little bit for a couple days. Like I mentioned yesterday, my husband has been working a lot of overtime lately and I am just looking forward to a couple days that don't involve any sort of work (well, paid work). I don't want to talk about it, think about it, or anything about it ALL.WEEKEND.LONG! I think I am just in a spring slump because I am itching for warm weather. The temps have been slowly creeping up but this time last year it was in the 70s, and the high today is 42. Sad face. I need warmth! I need a tan! I need sunshine!!!! Okay, rant over. Summer, just please hurry up and get here. This whole extended winter thing sucks a$$!! Moving on...
The reason why the first part of my title for this post is called "Little Moments" is because I had one last night. As a mother, this happens quite a bit actually. I love the time I get to spend with Kamden. Even if it's just feeding him his bottle, or changing his diaper and tickling him in the process, those moments I cherish so much. I seriously tear up as I type this. Every day is a reminder that time moves so fast and you can't get it back. Reading about different things happening around the world, crazy accidents, losing loved ones - it just really makes me take a step back and realize I need to enjoy the present, and really cherish the moments I have because some day I might not be able to.

Last night after we got home from visiting Bud's family, I picked Kamden up from his car seat and he immediately snuggled into my chest. Absolute best feeling in the world. I carried him to his room, laid him on his changing table, and he gave me the biggest smile. This little boy has the best and biggest smile I have ever seen. I am going to be in big trouble when he is older and is using that smile (and those eyes) to get away with things. It just melts my heart every.time. Anyway, after I got him changed and ready for bed, I laid him on my lap so that I could feed him before bed. At first, the kid is all over the place. I think he was past the point of being tired so his arms were all over the place - grabbing the bottle, flailing them in the air, rubbing his face, smacking the bottle, etc. He gets giddy like I do when I am over-tired. :) After about 10 minutes of this he started to calm down. He turned to me with those big blue eyes, grabbed my face and smiled. He stared at me the entire rest of the bottle with that sweet little face. Ahh I just love him so much. You see, it's moments like that, that really stick out for me. Those quiet moments, when we are just doing every day things, where you can just feel the love you have for that person and it just takes over. It's overwhelming, but in a good way. In a way where you don't know what you ever did before that person was here. I experience it with my husband, and now I get to experience it with my son. Wow. I have always wanted to be a mother but now that I am, I could not be more grateful. I love this life we have - even with the working overtime, the chaotic schedules, the house that stays clean for maybe an hour....I wouldn't have it any other way. :)
Whew! Now that I am sobbing at my desk, let's move on to my 4th day of the cleanse. I don't really have too much to say about yesterday because it was basically like the day before. I had my green smoothie for breakfast again (the last one I had prepped), spaghetti with organic sauce, turkey meat, and 100% whole wheat noodles, for lunch, and a turkey burger with cottage cheese and a salad for dinner. Not too shabby. We did have to up our willpower last night when we went to visit Bud's family because they had ordered pizza. Luckily it was all basically gone by the time we got there so we didn't have to longingly stare at it the whole time with googly eyes.

Yesterday after work I was determined to get my 3 mile run in. Luckily the stars aligned and KB fell asleep on the way home from picking him up and ended up sleeping for about 45 minutes. I was able to get home, run 3 miles, and shower before he woke up. It was perfect. Then by the time I was just about ready, Bud got home from work and was able to feed KB while I got dinner ready. We ate fast and then went to visit his family. It was a busy night but by the end of the day I had accomplished everything I wanted to, so I felt really good.

Welp, that's all I have for the day. Sorry to get all sentimental earlier, but everyone needs a good cry, haha.

See ya later suckas!!

Cleanse: Day 3

I am going to keep this post short and sweet because I really have nothing to talk about.  LAME.  I thought about making up an elaborate story with a lot of twists and turns, cliff-hangers, etc. but I am not feeling very creative right now.  So whatev.

Day 3 of the cleanse went well.  Again, I had my green smoothie for breakfast, chugged water like a mo fo, had a tuna sandwich on a 100% whole wheat bagel thin and a salad for lunch, and then our leftover chicken stir fry from the night before for dinner.  I did go to the grocery store to pick up a few extras that we didn't have on hand - cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, low fat granola, and a few organic things I have never heard of.  Overall, I would have to say that this cleanse really hasn't been that bad so far.  The only downside to this whole clean eating thing is that healthy food is frickin expensive!  I cannot wait until the farmer's market is open because that would save us a lot of moolah.  The only thing is that probably won't happen until July since this is literally the longest winter EVER!!!
As far as working out, I have done okay.  I got my 8 mile run in last Saturday and then ran on Tuesday this week.  I wanted to get a run in last night but it just didn't work out.  My husband has been having to work late a lot lately and last night he worked from home after staying late at work.  I feel bad for him but he is just so busy at work these days so it needs to be done.  By the time I got KB fed, bathed, and to bed it was about 8pm.  I looked at the kitchen and it was a pit.  I couldn't help but want to just clean up and get everything ready for today.  So, I put the kitchen before the treadmill, and skipped out on my run last night.  Cleaning counts as a work out, right......RIGHT!!???  So, I am hoping I can at least squeeze in a 3 mile run tonight.

Tonight we were invited to have pizza with Bud's family but don't worry, we will be skipping the pizza.  Am I a little sad about it?  YES.  I LOVE PIZZA.  And when the emails started flying about it I seriously had more drool on my shirt than KB.  But we are going to be strong and eat our dinner before we go over to visit his family.  We are hoping they have gas masks on hand for us to wear so we can't smell the delicious gloriousness of the pizza.  I am not gonna lie, that may be the first thing I eat next Thursday after the cleanse.  I might even do it at midnight that day.
"Has anyone seen a slice of plain cheese???"
"Yeah I did, but if you want it, I'm gonna have to barf it all up because it's gone."
I weighed myself this morning and I am the same as yesterday - I take that as a win.  As long as the numbers don't go up, I am cool.  I normally don't weigh myself every day but with the cleanse I thought it would be kind of interesting to track my daily progress.  I did, however, notice that my jeans yesterday were a little looser.  YAY, that is just a great feeling.  I tried on a pair of jeans that were too tight for me before I had KB and they are getting kind of close to fitting.  I was really surprised since I am still not at my pre-preg weight.  But, my body is different now so that could be why.  Those babies do a number on your body, I tell ya!
Welp, that's all I have for now.  Back to the grind.  Fingers crossed I can squeeze my run in tonight after work!

See ya later suckas!!!!!

Holy Sh*t Balls, I Have a New Follower!!!!! & Cleanse: Day 2

So just as I was about to hit "new post" and start rambling on about my cleanse, my eyes happened to notice I have a new follower....and by new I mean BIG TIME follower, because it's Holly from Where We Can Live Like Jack and Sally!!!!!!  Holy sh*t balls!!!!!!!
I am not gonna lie when I say this totally made my day!  I have been reading her blog for a while now and she is hilarious!  I love her personality plus she is a great motivator to get my arse to work out.  So, it's a win-win.  You should check her out!  Thanks for following me Holly!

Now, onto day 2 of the cleanse.  Day 2 went pretty good!  I had my green smoothie for breakfast again, and then a left over chicken fiesta bowl for lunch.  I brought some fruit to munch on throughout the day, still peed about a 100 times, and I was feeling pretty good leaving work.  I picked up KB from the sitter and on the way home he fell asleep in the car so I figured it would be the perfect chance to get my scheduled 3 mile run in when I got home.  So, I very quietly got KB out of the car, into his room, and whatdoyaknow, he woke up.  Cripes!  The sitter said that he was probably ready for a nap so I figured he would at least sleep for a half hour, but no.  I tried to rock him a little, tried to lay him in his crib, but he wasn't having it.  Luckily the kid is obsessed with Mickey Mouse and Little Einsteins so I turned on a cartoon, set him in his little chair with a couple toys to suck on, and I ran.  I have really been trying to up my pace during these short runs so I set the treadmill at a 2% incline and the speed at 7 mph, threw a towel over the time and just ran.  It felt GOOD.  I did start to fizzle out after about 20 minutes again and slowed the speed to 6.5, but I still finished with my best time yet!! (Best time meaning only 2 seconds faster but you gotta take what you can get!)

After my run, I laid on the living room floor, gasping for air while trying not to breathe in the fumes from my sweat (stings the nostrils), and watched this little guy do butt lifts for 10 minutes:
After that, I fed KB his veggies and fruit and took a shower.  By the time I got out of the shower it was almost 7pm and we hadn't eaten dinner yet.  I had plans to make chicken stir fry and in the midst of getting that together both my husband and I reached the point of being HANGRY (hungry + angry).  He was a little pissy with me, I may or may not have snapped at him, but we recovered and our dinner was good.  I bought some salt-free garlic and herb seasoning for the chicken, and cooked that in a little olive oil.  After the chicken was done, I added a little over a cup of chicken broth and a bag of frozen stir fry veggies.  We ate that over brown rice.  At first I was a little sad that we couldn't have some sort of sauce with it or soy sauce but in the end I was satisfied.  I did add a little Chula sauce (random) because like I said yesterday, "I lika da spice."  Anyway, the rest of our night was pretty relaxing.  We chilled on the couch, watched the Brewers, and looked up songs to make a CD.  I have been writing down songs that I like for months but haven't downloaded them yet so we are in dire need of a new CD to bump in the AC (that's our Acura).  The list consists of A LOT of rap mixed with some girly songs - I like.

Anyway, I weighed myself again this morning to see if I lost any more and I am down another pound!  That means I have lost 4 pounds since starting this cleanse on Monday.  Talk about motivation!!!  I have been trying not to make eye contact with the 4 mini Easter baskets I have yet to give to my nephews (they are getting them this weekend) because they consist of a lot of chocolate and jelly beans but knowing that I am seeing results so fast really helps kick those temptations in the throat.

Welp, on to another day of work, sticking to the cleanse diet, a 4 mile run tonight, and hopefully relaxation after that.

See ya later suckas!!!

10 Day Cleanse: Day 1

My husband and I started the AdvoCare 10 day cleanse yesterday and I am happy to report that we are still alive!  It actually wasn't that bad but I know that doing this for 10 days is going to be tough.  Especially since we were invited to Bud's dad's house for pizza this week, and then to his sister's house for apps and drinks on Saturday for the Final 4 games.  I think my husband will have a harder time than me this weekend since he said "March Madness is my favorite time of the year other than the Superbowl."  He lives for these games so I feel a little bad that I talked him into doing this with me the week of the NCAA championship.

BUT, summer is approaching, and weekends are just going to keep getting busier, so I really don't think there is a better time to do this other than now.  Plus, I really think it will be worth it in the end.  We (me) basically want to drop some lbs and prove to ourselves that we can go 10 days without eating out and drinking adult beverages.  We may go insane.

Now onto my first day of the cleanse....

I woke up bright and early and drank my fiber drink mixed with OJ.  The OJ is 100% natural - basically the most natural OJ I could find at the grocery store that didn't have 100 lbs of sugar in it.  Sunday night I prepped some food for lunch and cut up a bunch of fruit for the week.  I found a recipe for a green smoothie that I really like, so I pre-portioned all my fruit for the next 4 days to make a smoothie in the morning for breakfast.  I cut up and packaged all the ingredients so that I could just pull a bag of fruit/veggies each morning, dump it in the blender, and get on with my day.  Easy.

Green Smoothie
  • 1 apple
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup of green grapes
  • 1 cup of strawberries
  • 1 cup of kale (firmly packed)
  • 1 cup of baby spinach (firmly packed)
  • 1 cup of water
  • 2 cups of ice

For lunch I made chicken fiesta bowls.  Here is the recipe:
  • Boil 2 pieces of chicken and shred when done
  • Add 1 tbsp of cumin to the chicken
  • Dice up 1 green pepper, 1 red pepper, and 1 jalapeno and add to the chicken.  ( I would have also cut up an onion but my husband doesn't do onions and I didn't want to scare him from the cleanse the 1st day)
  • You can also add black beans but I totally forgot to grab them at the grocery store.  Womp.
  • Then I added salsa - as much as you want
  • I then served this over romaine lettuce

I think next time I would add the black beans for sure, and then possibly some brown rice.  And some spicy sauce since I lika da spice.  If I wasn't on the cleanse I would add some Greek yogurt and cheese.  Overall, I really liked this.  I think it was definitely filling enough and satisfying.

For dinner we made turkey burgers with spicy mustard, sour kraut (just a little), and a salad with olive oil vinaigrette.  I was nervous about the dressing because I like dressings with A LOT of flavor.  This one was good.  I got it from the organic section at the store and I think I will continue to use it after the cleanse.

And there you have it, our first day of the cleanse.  I did buy some almond butter (to replace my beloved peanut butter) and 100% whole wheat bagel thins and had that as a snack but that was all I ate.  I drank at least 100 ounces of water, peed every 20 minutes, and when I weighed myself this morning I was down 3 pounds from yesterday.  Granted, I ate like crap last weekend with Easter and all, and I am sure it was all water weight, but I will take it!  So I am excited to see what the next 9 days bring.  I have my scheduled 3 mile run after work today for 1/2 marathon training and I am hoping I won't want to cram every carb in sight down my throat afterwards.

In other news, we had Kamden's 6 month check-up yesterday and it went very well.  He weighs 17 pounds and 11 ounces putting him in the 51st percentile for weight, he is about 28 inches long which puts him in the 87th percentile for height (his dad is so proud - future bball star), and his head is in the 98th percentile.  His head has always been huge and I am pretty sure he gets that from me or my dad.  Which means he is going to be AWESOME! haha
Last night we decided to put the bumpers on KB's crib because we have been finding him with legs and arms hanging out the sides a lot lately.  Yesterday morning I went to get him because he was grunting, whining, yelling and when I went into his room he was on his stomach with both legs sticking out the side of the crib.  So it was time.  I asked the doctor at his appointment and she gave me the green light.  With that said, I was up a majority of the night worrying.  I think I checked on him about 7 or 8 times.  I just did not want him to roll into the side of the crib, fall asleep, and not have enough air flow.  Now, he can move his head just fine, and he can roll over just fine, so I should have relaxed a bit.  But I didn't.  Sad thing is (for me) that if I wasn't constantly checking on him and worrying, I would have been able to sleep straight through the night until 4am.  Lame.  I couldn't help it though.  That's what mamas do!
Welp, that's all I have for now.  I will keep updating about the cleanse in the next 9 days.  Here are a couple pictures from our first family walk!  It was so nice after work on Friday so we had to take advantage...

See ya later suckas!!
