I am happy to report that since I wrote out my plan for this week that so far I have stuck to it. I haven't been able to work out in the morning but I have been able to do so after work, so I am cool with that. Honestly, I would rather work out after work every day but with Kamden it can be hit or miss. The last couple days have worked out great with him because he has either slept a little after work, or will just play with his toys long enough for me to get my runs in.
Funny story: Wednesday morning Bud was up with Kamden at around 5/5:30am to feed him and I vaguely heard him get back in bed. As I laid there, 1/2 asleep, I hear a voice whisper "treadmill.......treadmill." I was not impressed. (Mornings are not my finest hour) While I appreciate him trying to get me up, I did not appreciate this happening about 25 minutes before my alarm was set to go off. So to get him back, when my alarm went off at 6am, I pressed snooze until I woke up at 7am. Devon - 1, Bud - 0.
Now, for my Throwback Thursday story. I have been thinking about what I want to write about and since I am itching for Spring, I will write about a time when the skys were bluer, the air was warmer, and the grass was greener...and we could actually see the grass instead of mounds upon mounds of snow. This brings me back to the summer after my first year of college. You see, my freshman year of college, I was at Arizona State, I didn't have a job, and all I had to worry about was school. It was a glorious time, I might add. That year I made myself become a runner because I knew that since I wasn't in sports anymore, and since I was living off Ramen Noodles and frozen pizza, that I needed to do something to stay in shape. So I started running on the treadmill at the gym on campus. By the end of that school year, I was comfortably running 6 miles every day. No lie, it was rare when I would run less than 6 days a week. I was definitely in the best shape of my life. So when I came back to Minnesota that following summer, I kept up with my running by running around town. One day, I was out running and came up on a softball diamond, which is right before the walking path I was about to go on to complete my run. As I was running by the softball diamond, there were a lot of people around because there was a game going on. Well, I am running by, minding my own business, jamming out to my WALKMAN (yeah, this was a time when no one knew what an iPod was), when I trip on a divot in the road and totally superman-it across the road, in front of all those people. My walkman went flying, and when it hit the ground the batteries flew in one direction, the CD inside flew in another, and I laid there in embarrassment.
This is a pretty accurate picture of what I looked like |
Now for some fun facts:
- I have been peed on by my son 2 times in the last 7 hours. Good times. He doesn't seem to mind because as he does it, I try to cover up his "area" to block the pee from spraying everywhere, and he just giggles the whole time.
I was admiring his spiked hair |
- I forgot my work laptop at home the other day but realized after I got to work. I parked in the parking ramp, walked down 2 flights of stairs, across the sky walk, down 2 more flights of stairs, walked down the hallway to the next set of stairs, before I realized my computer was at home. So I went back to my car, drove home, picked up my laptop, and drove back to work. I parked my car in the ramp, walked down 2 flights of stairs, across the sky walk, down another 2 flights of stairs, before I realized I left my laptop in the car. What the HELL!!?? Apparently pregnant brain never left me. On the plus side, I got a mini work out in that morning before work...HA!

- I filled out 2 NCAA brackets last night without looking at my husband's brackets beforehand. Afterwards, Bud was looking to see who I picked and realized that both my brackets were almost identical to his. He was not happy about this and tried to make me change my picks. I refused, and he was not happy. Hahahahaha. Reminds me of our first date when he picked me up and we realized we were both wearing black pea coats. He did not want to be matchy-matchy on our first date, hahaha. I guess we have been on the same page since day 1. :)
Welp, that's all I have for now.
See ya later suckas!!
